Choosing Empowerment

Q: Many people experience some measure of feeling dis-empowered. They may feel helpless to the conditions of the larger world or to their lives, such as an undesirable work environment or personal relationships. What advice do you have for those who are struggling to find their feeling of personal empowerment?

A: Empowerment is simply understanding that you are always in control of your environment and the circumstances of your life. When you feel dis-empowered, you are disconnected from your understanding of this Truth. But it does not change the Truth of it. It only means that you need to find your way back to that understanding. You need to regain your awareness that nobody and no thing has any power over you except for the power that you give them of your own free will.

Our Choices Create Our World

Let’s look at the examples you gave—like a work situation. If you go to your job every day and feel dis-empowered—perhaps because the boss requires you to do things that are out of alignment with your personal values, or simply because you feel there is something better for you—it is absolutely within your power to change that situation. Every one of you creates your world moment by moment through the choices you make, and your choices reflect your consciousness. The resonant frequency of your choices determines how aligned they are with your True Nature. High-vibration thoughts and feelings are associated with high-vibration choices. So, if you are feeling love, joy, compassion, forgiveness, and other such high-vibration feelings, then you know that the choice you are making, or considering making, is aligned with your True Nature—which is also the Heart of God. It’s very simple, you see?

If the boss requires you to do something that is out of alignment with your True Nature, then you will feel something other than those high-vibration feelings. For example, fear, shame, sadness, or anger. That is when you say you are dis-empowered, because now you feel you must subjugate your personal power (alignment with your True Nature) to a lesser power (that which is more aligned with fear). But you have at any given moment the absolute power to choose empowerment. Every moment is a choice—an opportunity to choose to align with higher or lower-vibration thoughts and feelings. And through your choices, you bring more of the same to you. If you choose a fear-based response, you will draw forth more circumstances that create opportunities for fear-based responses. If you choose a response based in love, you draw forth more opportunities to express love and all of its components, such as joy, compassion, and a feeling of shared higher purpose.

Get Divinely Practical

You may say, “Well, that doesn’t sound very practical when I have a family to feed. I can’t just not do what I’m told to do at work and expect to get away with it. I can’t just go around being all loving and joyful when the boss is breathing down my neck and telling me I need to get that icky thing done ASAP.” It may not sound practical to the human mind, but it is very practical to Divine Mind. And Divine Mind is who you really are when you are not in the physical. Moreover, Divine Mind is absolutely accessible to you when you are in the physical. Most of you don’t really believe that, and so you don’t experience it. But you could.

Divine Mind—the Mind of God, which is one and the same with your Higher Self—is always available to provide you with the guidance you seek. In fact, it’s trying to get through to you all the time. Many of you are simply not letting it in. This is because you aren’t paying attention. Many of you are so focused on the external conditions of the 3D world (such as your job and family) that you make almost no time to connect with your Higher Self. We understand that—it’s how you were taught to live by others who do the same thing because they were taught to live that way. But we are here now to tell you that you can indeed live from a place of greater connection to Divine Mind, and that you will achieve more desirable circumstances in your life when you do that.

Divine Mind will never guide you to make choices that are out of alignment with your True Nature. The only reason you would ever make such a choice is because you feel fear, and fear is a vibration that is very far removed from your True Nature. So, if the boss requires you to do something that is out of alignment with your True Nature and you feel fear about it, you are subjugating your true Divine Power to the limited conditions of your 3D world. We know that you do this because you fear a negative outcome. But we ask you this: What is the positive result you get from subjugating your True Nature to anything less than that? Do you think it will have a positive effect on you in the long run? Will it make you happy or unhappy? If it makes you unhappy, how will that affect your personal relationships? How will it affect your health? Will it drive you to seek more joyful experiences with people you love and trust? Will it lead you to spread more joy in the world? If not, what kind of world are you creating for your family and future generations? One that helps them to feel empowered or dis-empowered?

See Beyond the Moment

You see, humans tend to be very focused on the circumstances of the moment—the decision or action that must be taken today at work, for example. But rarely do you consider how that decision or action is contributing to the world you say you want to create. As we have said before, you create the world through your thoughts and actions moment by moment every day. The world you create is the true legacy you leave to your children. When viewed through that lens, is the fear-based choice to do something that is out of alignment with your True Nature a logical choice?

We say that it is not. The only logical choice is the one that expresses your Highest Self. Yes, this requires discipline and trust. You must trust that the world will not come crashing down around you if you choose the option aligned with Divine Mind. In fact, it is our promise that the world will improve for you. That may come with change, and the change may not always be comfortable in the moment, but the outcome will be positive if you maintain and affirm your desire for the highest outcome for all concerned. It is law. You may find that your current job responsibilities shift, or that you get a new boss, or that you find a new job altogether. Regardless, circumstances will shift for the better once you start making higher-vibration choices. Stand firm in your conviction to do what you know is right, have faith that the outcome will be positive, and be patient while the results of your thoughts and actions come to you. Isn’t that the very definition of empowerment?

It is the same in your personal relationships. That is, the underlying conditions that would lead you to feel dis-empowered are the same. You believe that someone has the ability to keep you from thinking, feeling, or acting in ways that are in alignment with your highest vision of yourself. You fear negative circumstances will result from living your truth. Again, the fear-based response is always a choice, and you will always know whether you are making the fear-based choice by the way that you feel in the moment. If you feel anything less than the Divine Love of God that you are in your True Nature, then there is a higher choice available to you. Whether or not you make the higher choice has a tremendous impact on whether you will continue to experience interactions with people that lead you to consider choices that feel dis-empowering, or whether you will begin ascending the spiral of higher options—options more aligned with your True Nature.

Summary

In short, empowerment is always a choice. To feel empowered, you simply choose the option that feels most in alignment with your True Nature. The choice that is most in alignment feels good—loving, joyful, compassionate. You will feel it in your mind and in your heart center. If you pay attention to your body, you will feel a lightness of being as you consider this choice. In contrast, the option that resonates at a frequency of fear and its components—anger, hate, shame, sadness, regret—will feel bad, mentally and physically. Boldly choose the option that feels good and you will feel empowered. As you do so, affirm the highest outcome for everyone involved. Harbor no ill-will toward the one who’s words and actions were the catalyst for your choices that led to the feeling of dis-empowerment. Affirm that all others involved in this situation also feel good, and that they also continue to feel empowered, loved, and respected. In this way, you assure that better conditions will come to you, and to all others. That is how you truly create the benevolent world you seek.

We are complete.
